The Science Park has recently included in its portfolio of small and medium-sized companies two new ones. The newcomers operate in the geoscience field and provide solutions for the oil and gas market. Petrec, a resident company in the COPPE/UFRJ Business Incubator during the last five years, is now in the Park to contribute to the development of new technologies and services in the acquisition, processing and joint interpretation of geophysical and geological data. Benthic, on the other hand, a global leader in offshore geotechnical investigations and consulting in geosciences, will develop tests and new tools to meet the needs of the offshore geotechnical industry in Brazil. The Park is now home to 68 institutions, 15 of which are large companies, 12 are small and medium-sized ones, in addition to 31 startups and 10 laboratories of the university.
