UFRJ remains at the top of the list of the best Brazilian universities and appears in the first place as far as innovation is concerned, according to the 2019 Folha University Ranking (Ranking Universitário da Folha – RUF) announced on October 7. Elected as third best of the country, UFRJ appears only behind the University of São Paulo (Universidade de São Paulo – USP) and the State University of Campinas (Universidade Estadual de Campinas – Unicamp). In the innovation ranking, UFRJ has appeared in first place for the second consecutive year. The number of patents requested by the institution and the number of studies carried out by the university in a partnership with the productive sector were taken into account.
