Two new companies, OceanPact and Wikki, joined the group of residents of UFRJ Science Park installing their R&D Centers in the environment. At this moment, the Park is home to 62 institutions: 16 large national and multinational ones, 10 small and medium-sized companies, 10 UFRJ laboratories and 26 startups. OceanPact is a Brazilian shipping company specialized in managing and emergency response on coastal areas and offshore with its main focus on environmental protection. Created in 2007, OceanPact became the largest and most complete company of response to oil spill in Latin America. In its turn, Wikki, originated from Coppe/UFRJ Business Incubator, is a consulting engineering company specialized in application, support and development of OpenFOAM® (Open Field Operation And Manipulation) aiming at solving problems of numeric simulation of fluid flow (CFD – Computational Fluid Dynamics).
