The UFRJ Science Park released its Sustainability Report on July 25, 2017. It presents the indicators of its economic-financial, social and environmental performance covering the time period from January 1 to December 31 of 2017 and it follows the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The highlights were the arrival of new companies, the launching of the Strategic Planning 2016-2045 and the development of projects in partnerships with the University institutions from areas other than the technological ones such as the School of Fine Arts and the Gastronomy department, part of the Nutrition Institution. Until December 31, 2017, the Park had 56 resident companies, 9 laboratories and 25 startups from the Coppe/UFRJ Business Incubator. In 2017, the resident companies initiated with UFRJ 55 cooperation projects worth R$ 63 million. During the same period of time, there were 18 requests of intellectual property, R$ 6,8 million in resources were generated for UFRJ that originated from the assignment of land use and R$ 1,6 million in taxes were collected by the resident institutions.
