With research centers located in the UFRJ Science Park, the companies Tenaris, Halliburton, Siemens, Shell, and FMC Technologies participated in the Rio Oil & Gas 2016, which happened from October 24 to 27. During the conference, the companies presented the new technologies that are being developed for the oil and gas market. With the support of DELL EMC², also located in the Park, four resident startups and one graduate of COPPE/UFRJ Business Incubator participated in the event as well. The companies Ativatec, GT2 Energia, Petrec, Twist and OilFinder presented their technologies and products at the Innovation Arena booth. On October 25, easySubsea, another resident company, lectured on wireless monitoring of subsea structures. On October 26, Petrec talked about RockLab Digital and OilFinder, an Incubator graduate, focused on remote technologies and tools for reducing the cost of oil exploration.
