The development of the UFRJ Science Park, which has attracted companies like Ambev, L’Oréal and GE over the last years, was the topic of a news article published on July 28 by Reuters and then republished in over 10 Brazilian and foreign news sites. The article highlights the diversification process of the institution, which in its first years attracted several large companies in the oil and gas fields, as well as the work performed in the research centers set up in the Park. In the article, EMC², GE, Schlumberger, Ambev and L’Oréal give details on the strategies they follow to promote R&D. The Park currently has 13 companies, 8 small and medium-sized companies, 7 labs and 26 startups from Coppe’s Incubator.
