On October 24, 2018, the UFRJ Science Park and the Eastern Oklahoma County Partnership (EOCP) – an institution that promotes economic development and entrepreneurship in the state of Oklahoma – signed an agreement which aims at both expanding and diversifying the entrepreneurial investment between Brazil and Oklahoma focusing on technological innovation. The partnership will allow Brazilian companies installed in the UFRJ Science Park and in the COPPE/UFRJ Business Incubator to prospect and develop activities in Oklahoma and vice-versa. This service, called softlanding, aims to encourage and support the internationalization of technology-based companies located in these two innovation environments. In addition to the softlanding program, the agreement also provides for the development of activities such as: the identification and establishment of partnerships between organizations and companies in Brazil and in Oklahoma according to the economic interests of both parties; the identification and promotion of new business and entrepreneurial investment opportunities; and the provision of a service for developing local entrepreneurial leads.
