The UFRJ Science Park opened yesterday, December 4th, the third cycle of the Short Circuit Gallery of Public Art, a partnership of the institution with the School of Fine Arts (EBA/UFRJ), which has been changing the 350 thousand square meters of the Park into an area of experimentation of art, technology and innovation. Thereafter, the Gallery will be considered an extension project of UFRJ, monitored by the Pro-Rectory for Extension (PR5). During this new phase, the artists Joana Peres, Paula Peregrina, Matheus Simões, Fátima Aguiar and the group formed by Julie Pires, Marcelo Ribeiro, Francisco Freitas and Danielle Mendes present five new works inspired by themes varying from of gender diversity to environmental sustainability. Different techniques were used such as bio-construction and augmented reality, supported by the Laboratory of Computational Methods in Engineering (COPPE/UFRJ). The exhibition is permanent, free and open to the public. More information at the link: parqueufrj.org.br/galeria-curto-circuito.
