TWIST, a resident company of the Park, provided for the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) a monitoring of fake news, gossips and complaints in real time during the second round of the Brazilian elections. Together with the companies Modulo Solution and Thrust Dev, the monitoring by TWIST aimed at warranting the credibility of the elections process. Over 90 GB of data were analyzed by means of artificial intelligence-based algorithms. Participants in the monitoring process also included experts of the School of Communication (UFRJ) and of NetLab, a research laboratory that focuses on the social uses of information and communication technology as well as on its social and cultural effects. The kind of material that seemed to present any type of risk was sent to the curators at the Superior Electoral Court.
