On October 19, during Anprotec’s conference, the Research Support Foundation of Rio de Janeiro (Faperj) signed the Program for Supporting Rio de Janeiro’s System of Science Parks (Flutec). Flutec is going to finance the physical and administrative structure of the Science Parks located in Rio de Janeiro and it will invest 20 million reais in projects. The program aims at promoting industrial competitiveness, a culture of innovation and wealth creation, by financing services such as individual and shared laboratories for scientific research, technological development and support of business growth. “The program addresses the project of humanizing the UFRJ Science Park, the actions that focus on facilitating the interaction between the people that work in the Park, and the cultural activities that can connect all areas of the University””, says José Carlos Pinto, CEO of the UFRJ Science Park.”
